Revolutionary War — Southern Campaign

Battle of Guilford Courthouse — Fought March 15, 1781, between British and German troops under Lord Cornwallis and American forces commanded by Gen. Nathanael Greene — PAN & ZOOM FOR DETAILS.

This map was created for the DCR brochure The Revolutionary War in North Carolina. It was also used for the new book titled Long, Obstinate, and Bloody: The Battle of Guilford Courthouse, by Lawrence E. Babits and Joshua B. Howard (Chapel Hill: The University of North Carolina Press, 2009).

Josh Howard happens to occupy the office next to mine. After I finished the terrain and other basics, Josh and I sat down at my computer and fine-tuned the troop positions. It was a fun project, and an approach I've never taken with any other author. This is the first book length monograph on Guilford Courthouse.

The brochure featuring this map is available at Guilford Courthouse National Military Park and other outlets.
